Absa Group Board Chairman, Mr. Sello Moloko, has paid a working visit to Ghana, highlighting the key role of the country in Absa’s operations across Africa.

A delegation of senior executives accompanied Mr. Moloko, including Mr. René van Wyk, Non-Executive Director of Absa Group Limited, and Mr. Saviour Chibiya, Chief Executive of Absa Regional Operations.

During the three-day working visit, Mr. Moloko engaged with the Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison.

Mr. Moloko also met with Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh, Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Ghana, and Her Excellency Grace Jeanet Mason, the South African High Commissioner. He also had the opportunity to engage key Absa Ghana clients and partners, and Absa colleagues.

“Ghana is one of our biggest markets outside of South Africa and it is critical to our plan to be a pan-African bank. The opportunity to visit our operations and see the enthusiasm of our people on the ground was invaluable,” said Moloko.

Mr. Moloko’s visit emphasises Absa’s commitment to support the growth of Absa Ghana’s operations within the Group.
