    •  Proof of residence (any of the following):
      - Ghana Post digital address (should be same as on your Ghana card) OR
      - Utility bill in applicant's name (not more than 3 months old) OR
      - Tenancy agreement with utility bill OR
      - Local government rate document OR
      - Bank statement containing current address (not more than 3 months old) OR
      - Introductory  letter from an existing Absa customer who has known the applicant for more than 1 year (appendix A)
    • Proof of employment (for only salaried applicants) evidenced by:
      - Payslip (not more than 3 months old) OR
      - Employment contract OR
      - Employer introductory letter OR
      - Social security extract
    Ghanaian living abroad
    • Valid passport (bio data page) or Ghana Card (front and back)
    •  Address confirmation (any of the following):
      Utility bill in applicant's name (not more than 3 months old) OR
      - Social Security statement OR
      - State ID with applicant's address OR
      - Driver's licence with applicant's address OR
      - Bank statement containing applicant's name and address (not more than 3 months old)
    •  Proof of employment (for only salaried applicants) evidenced by:
      - Payslip (not more than 3 months old) OR
      - Employment contract OR
      - Employer introductory letter OR
      - Social security extract
    •  Foreign TIN (mandatory for US persons)
    •  Evidence of certification of documents by:
      - Lawyer OR
      - Notary public OR
      - Court of competent jurisdiction
    Note:
    •  Evidence of certification of documents is mandatory for Ghanaians living abroad
    •  The person undertaking the certification must be known and capable of being contacted if necessary

    • Ghana Card (front and back) or valid passport for diplomats and their dependents
    • Proof of residence (any of the following):
      - Ghana Post digital address (should be same as on your Ghana card) OR

Then email the form and required documents to us at customerexperience.gh@absa.africa. Banking abroad is easy to apply for and gives you 24/7 access to our call centre for all your banking needs. Existing customers need to complete only the additional account opening form.
