Definitions
In these terms and conditions the following definitions will apply:
- “You” or “your” - means any customer accessing this web site (“Site”).
- “The Bank, we”, “us” or “our” - means Absa Bank Ghana Limited.
- “Absa Group” - means The Absa Group and its affiliates.
- “Password” - means any secret and confidential code for access to this Site and/or to avail any products and services provided by us to you and/or selected by you and/or subsequently changed by you at your discretion.
- “Site” - means the Absa web site.
- “The Service” - means the Absa Retail Internet Banking service.
- “Username” - means and includes an identification code which is selected by us and/or you for operating the Site and/or to avail of any products or services provided by us to you.

Site terms
These terms and conditions govern your use of this Site and by accessing this Site and acknowledging receipt of the username and password you agree to be bound by them.
- Please note that if you are an existing Absa customer, these terms and conditions will apply in addition to those of your savings and/or current account and those contained in the application form or appointment of banker signed by you.
- We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time and without notice by updating this posting and your continued access to or use of this Site following any such change will constitute your acceptance of the revised terms and conditions.
- The Bank reserves the right to accept or decline any application for the Service at its sole discretion.
- The processing of your application and the subsequent registration for the Service will be done within 5 (five) working days of submitting your application.
- It is your sole responsibility to familiarise yourself with the operating procedures for the Service as will be provided by the Bank upon your registration. The Bank will not be liable for any losses incurred as a result of your errors either of commission and/or omission.
- You agree and undertake to be bound by and to comply with all of the operating procedures as may be issued by the Bank from time to time. The Bank will not be bound by or obliged to take any action on any instructions which do not properly comply with the procedures and the Bank may reject such non-compliant instructions.
- The Bank will provide you with a username and password for your access to this Service. You must keep your login details secret and not disclose them. You must take all reasonable care to prevent unauthorised or fraudulent use of the Service. The Bank will not be held liable for any losses arising from the unauthorised use of your username and password.
- You must notify the bank immediately should you feel your login details have been compromised, through our Contact Centre at 0302 300 258.
- This Service will be provided to you as long as you are the sole account holder of your account(s) or have the mandate to singularly operate the specified accounts.
- The Bank reserves the right to charge a fee for your access and use of all or part of the services offered through this Site. You will be notified of these fees from time to time. You will be liable to pay the Bank for any fees levied for the use of the Site, unless the Bank in its sole discretion has waived such fees. By accepting these terms and conditions, you provide the Bank with the authority to debit these fees from your current account on a monthly basis. These charges will be reflected in your normal bank statement. The Bank reserves the right to revise the fees chargeable for this service from time to time. The Bank reserves the right to terminate this Agreement in the event that you fail to pay any fees levied for the provision of the Service. Please refer to the Bank’s tariff guide for further details regarding the bank’s charges.

Use of this Site
- You may not misuse this Site (including, without limitation, by hacking). We may in our sole discretion terminate your access to or use of this Site for any reason, including without limitation where we believe that you have not acted in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Site.
- This Site is designed to be accessed from its homepage. Accessing a specific page within this Site via a hypertext link may mean that you do not see important information about this Site, the conditions for its use and the Absa Group.
- While we will endeavour to ensure that this Site is normally available 24 hours a day, we will not be liable if for any reason this Site is unavailable at any time or for any period. Also, your access to this Site may be suspended temporarily or restricted without notice to allow for repairs, maintenance, or the introduction of new facilities or services or for reasons beyond our control.

Termination and consequences of termination
- You may terminate the use of this service through an application form available at our branches. Such requests will be effected within five (5) working days of receipt of the termination notice by us. Any fees that may be outstanding at the time of such termination will remain payable and the Bank reserves the right to debit such fees from your account.
- You will remain liable for any internet service provider charges that may arise from the use of this service.
- You may terminate the use of this service through an application form available at our branches. Force majeure
- Notwithstanding any provision contained in this Agreement, the Bank will not be liable to you to the extent fulfilment or performance of any terms or provisions of this Agreement is delayed or prevented by revolution or other civil disorders; wars; acts of enemies; strikes; lack of available resources from persons other than us; labour disputes; electrical equipment or mobile network failure; fires; floods; acts of God; government or regulator action; or, without limiting the foregoing, any other causes not within its control, and which by the exercise of reasonable diligence we are unable to prevent, whether of the class of causes hereinbefore enumerated or not.
- If any force majeure event occurs, we will give written notice to you and will use commercially reasonable efforts to minimise the impact of such event.

Governing law
- The Laws of the Republic of Ghana govern these terms and conditions and you agree that the Ghanaian Courts will have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any matter or dispute in connection with or arising out of this Site and these terms and conditions.
- This Site is designed for use in the Republic of Ghana only and is not directed to, nor intended for distribution to or use by, any person or entity in any jurisdiction or country where the publication or availability of this Site or such distribution or use would be contrary to local law or regulation.
- If you choose to access information on this Site, it is your responsibility to comply with the applicable local, national or international laws and any use of this Site outside the Republic of Ghana is entirely at your own risk.
